Abuse survivors, anxiety, Faith, faith in healing, healing after heartache, healing after tragedy, healing from abuse, healing from anxiety, healing from betrayal, overcoming depression, overcoming heartache
I woke this morning…earlier than God…not able to go back to sleep. Dreaded anxiety attacks.
Mimosa in hand I took a chair, walked out to the beach and sat.
Listen to it. Over and over. Listen.
“I love you Lord, and I lift my voice to worship you, oh my soul, rejoice. Take joy my king in what you hear. May it be a sweet, sweet, sound in your ear.” A hymn that lifts my spirit, I sang to the abyss as the waves crashed in and tears finally flowed.
An hour passed and thunder clashed with the waves. Time to go. I packed up and headed back with a more joyful spirit. I will leave the heaviness with the slap of each wave. Let the ocean eat it to oblivion.
Snuggled in my blanket I read this page in the “Everything I need to know I learned from a Little Golden Book”…and I will follow directions.
Treat yourself today. No matter what it might be, little or big, but make sure you give yourself something that brings a delight to your heart. Even if it is a simple as allowing yourself to shed a tear…or as gluttonous as eating an entire pint of ice cream (or carton??) ;).
And smile. Smile even if you don’t feel it…because eventually it will come around to being true.
